Hey hey everyone!

I hope you all finished up your weekends on a good note!

Ours was lovely over in the McD household.  We finished up our fun family weekend with a home cooked meal.

Dinner…

I whipped up some OMG Sweet Potato Meatloaf

Meaty and loafy!

…and served it with a salad of mixed greens, chopped walnuts, dried cranberries and feta cheese and some warm crusty bread.

Fresh and delish!

Fresh and delish!

It was an extra tasty end to a fun weekend!

………………

Today was filled with lots of driving and eating, but this morning I did do something VERY special!

I got to meet my beautiful friend’s brand new one day old baby boy.  Ugh, he was the sweetest thing!!

Baby!

Baby!

There’s just something about newborns isn’t there?? And it’s such a special feeling to be able to meet someone on their first day on this earth.  Pretty amazing!

Love!

Love!

………….

And then the driving and the eating began!

Lunch…

Since their very first trip to Tahoe, my parents have always stopped at the same Denny’s on their way up the hill.  And today was no exception!

Denny's!

Denny’s!

Denny’s doeeesssn’t really do it for me but I did enjoy a pretty tasty salad today!

I opted for the grilled chicken salad with cranberries, candied pecans and apple slices.

Love apple in salads!

Love apple in salads!

After a quick-lunch, we were back on the road and on our way to see sissy!

……………….

Reunited! (it’s been about a month!!).

Sissies!

Can you tell who’s been basking in the mountain sun?? (HINT – not pasty face me!)

Someone was very excited to see her aunty!

Annie!

Annie!

Annndd I think the feeling was mutual!

Aunty love.

Aunty love.

Yep, I think this is going to do quite nicely for the next week…

Lake Tahoe.

Lake Tahoe.

After settling in for a little while, we motivated ourselves and headed off to the River Grill for happy hour and dinner.

Dinner…

When in Rome…

Marg time!

Marg time!

…drink Margaritas and eat sweet potato fries! Duh!

The best!

The best!

And pork dumplings.

So many eats!

So many eats!

It was nice to have (4 out of 5) our family together in one place for a fun dinner.  It’s been too long!

Me and my fasher.

Me and my fasher.

While it may seem like I’ve been wearing the exact same outfit since my parents arrived, rest assured it’s just an optical illusion.  Oh wait….nope, no it’s not…I’m a pig!

A musher and a sissy.

For the main meal portion of our night, I decided on the butternut squash ravioli with candied pecans (twice in one day!).

So so good.

So so good.

There’s something special about eating dinner that tastes like dessert! I also stole the asparagus from my sister’s boyfriends plate.  Gotta get them greens!

……………….

And now I’m settling in for a nice relaxed night before full-blown family week starts tomorrow (and hopefully a run! At altitude, I’m going to die!).

Have a happy Monday night!
